The NIMH Program Announcement (PAR-06-389), “Basic and Translational Research Opportunities in the Social Neuroscience of Mental Health” (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-06-389.html) continues its encouragement of relevant grant applications for the remaining submission dates for new and amended applications in FY2008 and FY2009. Letters of intent for the next round of competition are due August 27, 2007 and the application due date is September 25, 2007. In keeping with the terms of PAR-06-389, applications amended in response to a prior year of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will be accepted in any of the remaining years of this competition.
As described in PAR-06-389, NIMH intends to commit approximately $2 million dollars in each of the next two fiscal years in order to fund approximately 4 – 6 new grants each year, in response to this FOA. Applicants are urged to review PAR-06-389 and to consult program staff concerning responsiveness of potential applications to this FOA.
