Reminder of Policy for Acceptance of Applications Requesting $500,000 or More for PAR-04-060

The purpose of this notice is to update the contact information and restate a requirement of PAR-04-060, Advanced Centers for Mental Health Disparities Research (ACMHDR), which was published in the NIH Guide on February 6, 2004.

Applicants for the ACMHDR program announcement are reminded that, as stated in the original announcement and in accordance with NIH-wide policy, any applicant requesting direct costs of $500,000 or more per year must:

1) Contact NIMH program staff at least 6 weeks before submitting the application, i.e., as you are developing plans for the study;

2) Obtain agreement from staff that NIMH will accept your application for consideration for award; and,

3) Include a cover letter with the application that identifies the NIMH staff member who agreed to accept assignment of the application.

This policy applies to all new investigator-initiated (type 1), amended, or revised grant applications submitted in response to this Program Announcement. Submission of a Letter of Intent is not sufficient to satisfy this requirement.
