UNSOLICITED APPLICATIONS FOR PROGRAM PROJECT (POl) GRANTS

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

The NIMH will no longer accept unsolicited applications for new (Type 1) 
Program Project (POl) Grants, effective immediately.  One competitive 
renewal (Type 2) application will be accepted for currently supported 
Program Project Grants that terminate on or before October 1, 2002; the 
standard two revisions will be allowed for such competitive renewal 
applications.  Competitive renewals will not be accepted for currently 
supported Program Project Grants that terminate after October 1, 2002.

Applications for Program Project Grants that are solicited specifically 
through Program Announcements (such as the Human Brain Project, Centers for 
Minority Mental Health, and others) or through Requests for Applications 
(RFAs) will continue to be accepted, subject to the existing procedure for 
accepting applications requesting $500,000 or more in direct costs for any 
year.
