PARTNERSHIPS FOR QUALITY: ADDENDUM
Release Date: May 30, 2002
NOTICE: NOT-HS-02-009
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
(http://www.ahrq.gov)
PURPOSE
The purpose of this addendum is to inform potential applicants of
clarification to the funding priorities for RFA-HS-02-010, published in the
NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts, on May 10, 2002, titled "Partnerships for
Quality," administered by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
(AHRQ).
Since the release of this RFA, AHRQ has decided to further emphasize the
following areas of investigation: (1) Translation, dissemination, and
implementation of mental health care for children using evidence-based
research and (2) measurement of the impact of these activities. Funding
priority will also be given to applications submitted under the RFA for
exploratory or pilot research projects that address these stated priority
areas. Applications that address these priority areas should demonstrate
that specialty and community-based care links back to health care settings
providing primary care to children, including but not limited to private,
office-based primary care, school-based health sites, and community health
centers. It is in primary care settings that many children with behavioral
and mental health problems are first seen and where a major responsibility
for care delivery and coordination lies. Partnerships between specialty and
primary care organizations are encouraged. The other award criteria listed
in the RFA will also be considered by AHRQ in making final funding decisions.
