Purpose

Background
In March of 2015, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) released a Request for information (RFI) (NOT-HL-15-252) to help guide the Institute in setting scientific priorities for the next decade. The overall purpose of NOT-HL-15-252 was to embark on a Strategic Visioning process to collectively and iteratively identify compelling questions (CQs) and critical challenges (CCs) in heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS) research that the NHLBI can address through Institute-initiated activities.

The NHLBI announces the community update phase of the Institute’s Strategic Visioning research priorities development process. The NHLBI and its advisory groups have synthesized all of the CQs and CCs submitted by the public. The Institute has released the resulting Draft Strategic Research Priorities. Individuals and groups may review the Draft Strategic Research Priorities online by visiting http://go.usa.gov/3AqRT.

Information Requested
Those who wish to provide feedback on the Draft Strategic Research Priorities may do so by visiting the community update page of the Strategic Visioning website.

How to Submit a Response
Responses during the community update phase may be submitted electronically on the submission website until midnight (EST) September 11, 2015.
