Purpose

On July 26, 2012, the NHLBI issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA): RFA-HL-13-023 Career Development Program in Omics of Lung Diseases (K12).

The following two corrections to this FOA are being made:

NHLBI intends to commit up to $1,000,000 in FY 2013 and up to $2,250,000 for the subsequent four years to fund up to eight awards. Future year amounts will depend on annual appropriations.

Each budget year may not exceed the following direct cost thresholds: Year 1: $115,000, Year 2: $250,000, Year 3: $250,000, Year 4: $250,000 Indirect costs are reimbursed at 8% of modified total direct costs (exclusive of tuition and fees and expenditures for equipment) rather than on the basis of a negotiated rate agreement.

New Language:
The scholars will receive up to $75,000 in salary support plus fringe benefits and $11,500 for research expenses per year for up to 3 years.

All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.
