The purpose of this Notice is to announce the NHLBI's intention to issue a Request for Applications (RFA) for a Clinical Hematology Research Career Development Program in the fall of 2005. The receipt date for applications would be in the late winter of 2006.

This Clinical Hematology Research Career Development Program would support comprehensive clinical research training for physicians and clinical scientists who want to specialize in benign hematology. Through this initiative, NHLBI will support several multidisciplinary, postgraduate career development programs to prepare clinicians for academic research careers in benign hematology .

This Notice encourages investigators who believe that they have sufficient expertise and resources to form these collaborative, multidisciplinary teams to begin considering applying for this initiative.
