Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to modify the information in the FOA regarding permitted cost caps for applications to RFA-HG-10-015, Genome Sequencing and Analysis Centers (U54).

This FOA states a direct cost cap of $45M per year. With this Notice, NHGRI changes the award cap to $65M per year total costs. Changing the emphasis to total costs, rather than direct costs, is to encourage flexibility in how the applicant proposes to organize the activity to reduce costs.

The changes occur to Section II, Award Information:

Original language:

Award Budget Information: Individual application budgets should not exceed $45M per year, direct costs and must reflect actual needs of proposed project.

Revised language:

Award Budget Information: Individual application budgets should not exceed $65M per year, total costs. All direct costs must reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.
