Purpose

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), along with National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institute on Aging (NIA), Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to extend the expiration date of the following funding opportunity announcements:

New Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) will be issued after the National Human Genome Research Institute’s new strategic plan--Base Pairs to Bedside: Charting a Course for Genomic Medicine--has been published and NHGRI staff has had ample time to generated FOAs that address opportunities in the strategic plan. It is anticipated that the Strategic Plan will be operational by Spring 2011.
