Part 2. Full Text of Announcement

Section I. Funding Opportunity Description

Studies of particular interest to NICHD include:

  • NICHD encourages research to use innovative technology to conduct epidemiologic studies of large cohorts of U.S. populations at high risk of HIV infection: men you have sex with men (MSM), transgender women, and black/African American women. Specifically, NICHD places high priority on the enrollment of young populations (age 13-25 years old, with emphasis on age 18 or younger), as this age group is at particularly high risk of HIV seroconversion. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their research plans with NICHD Scientific/Research staff before submission.

Section II. Award Information

The following NIH components intend to commit the following amounts in FY 2017 to fund 3-4 awards:

NIAID, $3.6 Million
NIMH, $0.5 Million
