Purpose

This Notice informs potential applicants that NICHD intends to publish a single FOA for re-competition of the CHRCDA program. Applications will be accepted from new applicants as well as those seeking renewal of awards issued in response to RFA-HD-12-189 and RFA-HD-13-011. A funding opportunity announcement will be released approximately in December, 2016.

This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.

The FOA is expected to be published in late Fall 2016 with an expected application due date in Winter 2016.

This FOA will utilize the K12 Physician Scientist Award (Program) activity code. Details of the planned FOA are provided below.

Research Initiative Details

The CHRCDA program supports mentored institutional research career development (K12) programs for junior faculty investigators who have recently completed postgraduate clinical training in a subspecialty area of Pediatrics, and are committed to launching an independent research career. The program provides supervised research training to assist the transition into productive physician scientists.
