Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to announce new application instructions for classifying training grant applications submitted to PAR-17-341 "National Institute of General Medical Sciences Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Predoctoral Institutional Research Training Grant (T32)" into one of the 12 broad areas of basic biomedical sciences supported by NIGMS. An institution may not have duplicate or highly overlapping applications in the same training area under review at the same time. Also, NIGMS will support only one training program in a given training area per institution (normally identified by having a unique DUNS number or NIH IPF number).
The FOA is modified accordingly.

Agency Routing Identifier Field: NIGMS accepts predoctoral training grant applications to enhance graduate research training in 12 broad areas of basic biomedical sciences. Applicants are expected to identify the program area to which they are applying from the list below by entering the one-digit code and abbreviation (e.g., 1 BBS).

2 BS: Biostatistics
3 BT: Biotechnology
4 CBM: Cellular, Biochemical, and Molecular Sciences
5 CBI: Chemistry-Biology Interface
