Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform interested applicants from eligible institutions that NIGMS will no longer accept any application (new, renewal, resubmission or revision) in the neurosciences area through the NIH Parent T32 FOA (PA-14-015) as previously accepted under its Systems and Integrative Biology (SIB) predoctoral training program. Applicants should check the NIGMS website for the continuing areas of interest for the SIB program (http://www.nigms.nih.gov/Training/InstPredoc/pages/PredocTrainingDescription.aspx#overview). Current basic neuroscience training programs supported by NIGMS are strongly advised to apply to the Jointly Sponsored Institutional Predoctoral Training Program in the Neurosciences (JSPTPN, PAR-12-084) as they come up for renewal. This will allow for the gradual transition of currently funded programs to JSPTPN over the course of the next four to five years.
