The MORE Division at NIGMS will conduct a Technical Assistance Workshop for Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program Directors, potential Program Directors, and others who have an interest in and intend to submit a new, revised or renewal application for Bridges to the Baccalaureate program for either the September 18, 2007 or January 18, 2008 application submission date.  The purpose of the workshop is to inform applicants of changes to the existing Bridges to the Baccalaureate program and to offer guidance about the new program.  The workshop is scheduled for Monday, July 30, 2007 from 9:00 am-3:00 pm in the Natcher Building (Bldg. 45), Conference Room E1/E2 on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD.  It is anticipated that the Program Announcement for the new Bridges to the Baccalaureate program will be published in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts 60 days before the next application submission date, September 18, 2007.  Attendees are strongly encouraged to review the new Bridges to the Baccalaureate program announcement before attending the Technical Assistance Workshop and bring in for discussion a set of specific aims and an outline of the proposed Bridges to the Baccalaureate program based on the new program announcement.

In order to participate in the workshop, teams of two individuals from each invited institution are required.  These teams should consist of the potential Bridges to Baccalaureate Program Director and an institutional official at the level of Dean or higher from the applicant institution.

Because of logistical reasons, this workshop is not open to Bridges to Baccalaureate coordinators from the partner institutions or to the applicants for Bridges to the Doctorate program.

Arrangements for travel and subsistence are the responsibility of attendees.  Funds from active NIH grants, including Bridges, cannot be used to defray the cost of travel and subsistence.
