The Funds Available section of RFA-GM-06-001 (Escherichia Coli Model Organism Resource) specifies that NIGMS intends to commit approximately 800,000 dollars total costs in FY06 to fund a single grant in response to this RFA. An applicant may request a project period of up to three years and a budget for direct costs up to 500,000 dollars per year, exclusive of subproject indirect costs.

This Notice modifies Section II Funds Available as follows:

"NIGMS intends to commit approximately 800,000 dollars total costs in FY06 to fund a single grant in response to this RFA. An applicant may request a project period of up to three years and a budget for direct costs up to 500,000 dollars per year, exclusive of subproject indirect costs. One-time equipment costs that would cause the 500,000 dollars per year direct cost cap to be exceeded can be requested upon written permission of the Program Officer listed under Section VII, Agency Contacts, 1. Scientific/Research Contact. This letter must be included in the application package

Although the financial plans of the IC(s) provide support for this program, awards pursuant to this RFA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.

Facilities and administrative costs requested by consortium participants are not included in the direct cost limitation; see NOT-OD-05-004."
