Resource Sharing Plan

Individuals are required to comply with the instructions for the Resource Sharing Plans (Data Sharing Plan, Sharing Model Organisms, and Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS)) as provided in the PHS398 Application Guide. All projects and cores are expected to include a “Data Sharing Plan,” a 1-paragraph description of how final research data and findings will be shared, consistent with achieving the goals of the program. Plans for investigator-initiated research translation should be described in this section emphasizing research translation components each Center is expected to address: 1) Communicating within SRP; 2) Partnerships with Government Agencies; 3) Technology Transfer; 4) Information Dissemination to Other End-users. (See Section I. Funding Opportunity Description “Research Translation Core.”) These plans should be coordinated with the Research Translation Core and Administrative Core.

Resource Sharing Plan

  •  Individuals are required to comply with the instructions for the Resource Sharing Plans (which include the Data Sharing Plan, Sharing Model Organisms, and Genome Wide Association Studies) as provided in the PHS398 Application Guide.
  • All Projects and Research Support Cores are expected to include a “Data Sharing Plan” which would consist of two parts: a “Research Data Sharing Plan” as well as an “Investigator-Initiated Research Translation Plan.”

    • The “Research Data Sharing Plan” describes how final research data would be shared, or should include an explanation of why data-sharing is not possible (brief 1-paragraph description).
    • The “Investigator-Initiated Research Translation Plan” would describe a plan for research translation (1-paragraph description) for each project.  SRP defines “Research Translation” as “communicating and facilitating the use of research findings emanating from the Center in the manner most appropriate for their application and the advancement of research objectives.”  Project investigators, working in conjunction with the Research Translation Core, should describe a plan to identify appropriate research translation opportunities, drawing from RTC’s four research translation component(s): 1) Communicating within SRP; 2) Partnerships with Government Agencies; 3) Technology Transfer; 4) Information Dissemination to Other End-users.  Plans should emphasize the most appropriate of these RTC component(s) for the research proposed. Projects would not be required to address all four RTC components.  (See Section I. Funding Opportunity Description for details about research translation and the Research Translation Core.)

Data Sharing Plans should be coordinated with the Research Translation Core and Administrative Core.

All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.

Funding Opportunity Web Seminar

The SRP will be holding a web seminar to provide information about current funding opportunities: Small Business Innovative Research Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer Research (SBIR / STTR) Grants (R43 / R41) Hazardous Substances Detection and Remediation Program; and RFA-ES-12-003 "Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program (P42)".  Primary focus will be on the new multi-project center grant announcement (P42), including an emphasis on changes compared to previous solicitations. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.
