NOTICE OF SBIR ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPLEMENTS FOR E-LEARNING PRODUCTS RELEASE DATE: May 8, 2003 NOTICE: NOT-ES-03-009 National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) (http://www.niehs.nih.gov) The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is announcing the availability of limited support for administrative supplements to active NIEHS Worker Education and Training Program SBIR funded awardees that can demonstrate capacity to build upon existing e-learning activities related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) activities. Such activities must build upon the scope of activities currently funded. Eligible Worker Education and Training Program SBIR awardees may apply for supplemental funding to build upon E-learning products that support the training of skilled support personnel (SSP) involved in responses to WMD incidents. SSP include a wide range of job categories such as laborers, operating engineers, carpenters, and utility workers. Training for SSP should be based upon a foundation of Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard training with refresher training used as one vehicle to update and get new information out to SSP. The NIEHS will commit approximately $228,305 in SBIR funds to fund one to two supplemental awards. An applicant may request support for up to 12 months and budget up to $228,305 in total costs. The actual number of awards is contingent upon the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
