TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE NIDDK EPIDEMIOLOGY COORDINATING COMMITTEE: RFP AVAILABLE Release Date: February 16, 2001 NOTICE: NOT-DK-01-008 National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is seeking an organization to provide technical support services. These services shall include the performance of tasks that involve five major areas: a. conduct of original epidemiologic research on the epidemiology, etiology, and sequellae of the various diseases under the purview of NIDDK, including assessment and analysis of data in the context of contemporary knowledge about these diseases and preparation of written technical reports that would be suitable for publication in the medical literature; b. provision of biostatistical expertise in determining the technical feasibility of specific proposed analyses, selecting appropriate statistical analytic methods for specific analyses, and performing statistical tests of analyses to determine significance of results; c. data management and data processing support in analysis of complex biomedical datasets; d. review of the published biomedical literature and preparation of synopses of research results in language suitable for an educated lay audience; e. development and maintenance of data systems for assessing scientific activities in NIDDK or at remote sites using the Internet or other appropriate tools. The Request for Proposal (RFP) NIH-NIDDK-01- 03 has a due date of March 29, 2001.
