The National Institute on Dental and Craniofacial Research's (NIDCR) focus is on the advanced development and validation of imaging technologies that address issues related to early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome measures of precancerous and cancerous lesions and conditions in the head and neck region. Malignancy of the oral cavity, oropharynx, and salivary glands are organ sites of priority to NIDCR.
