RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is 
interested in establishing an International Research Registry Network for 
Sj gren"s syndrome.  As part of this, the NIDCR plans to issue a Broad Agency 
Announcement (BAA) that will include the following technical objectives: A) to 
design and implement an International Research Registry Network for Sj gren"s 
syndrome, and B) to establish a set of standardized diagnostic criteria for 
the recruitment of Sj gren"s syndrome patients, and C) to collect, process, 
store, ship and analyze clinical information and biological specimens from 
patients and families with Sj gren"s syndrome, and D) to disseminate to 
researchers clinical information and biological specimens from patients with 
Sj gren"s syndrome.  It is expected that proposals with a wide variety of 
technical and scientific approaches will be submitted.  

This is not a request for proposals.  It is anticipated that the BAA-DR-03-01 
will be available at http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/funding/index.htm on or about
