The National Institute on Drug Abuse maintains a strong interest in studies on tobacco use and HIV/AIDS despite the expiration of PA-08-253 (R01) and PA-08-254 (R03), “Unique Interactions Between Tobacco Use and HIV/AIDS,” which will not be reissued. Using other NIDA or parent FOAs, applicants are encouraged to submit research applications addressing the intersection of nicotine or tobacco use and HIV/AIDS, including animal and human preclinical, treatment, epidemiology, and prevention studies.
