The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) plans on issuing a solicitation seeking qualified businesses with the capability to produce, store, and distribute labeled and unlabeled opioid peptides and related peptides. A solicitation will be released through the Federal Business Opportunies website( URL: https://www.fbo.gov/ ). The RFP will be released on or about March 11, 2011 and proposals will be due approximately 45 days thereafter.
In order to meet the demand for authentic, pure, and racemization free peptides, NIDA plans to maintain an inventory of approximately 53-55 peptides and some of their respective radio labeled compounds (approximately 30-35) and supply them primarily to NIDA grantees for use in NIDA supported studies and at the same time maintain capability to rapidly synthesize, on demand, new peptides that are potentially useful in drug abuse research.
