The purpose of this Notice is to clarify PAR-09-239, Behavioral Science Track Award for Rapid Transition (B/START) (R03) (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-09-239.html) by removing a contradiction in the announcement.

2. Review and Selection Process
Old Language (contradicts Executive Summary):
R03 small grant mechanism is described…“for supporting discrete, well-defined projects that realistically can be completed in two years.”
New Language:
The B/START is a special R03 program with a shortened one year period of support.
All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.
