RECEPTOR PROFILING AND COMPOUND LIBRARY SCREENING

National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)

The National Institute on Drug Abuse intends to award a contract for 
receptor profiling and compound library screening.  The contractor 
shall perform in vitro receptor binding assays on a wide variety of 
receptor targets.  In addition, perform follow-up binding and 
functional assays using suitable in vitro biological systems. This is a 
follow-on procurement to contract number N01DA-8-8089 with Novascreen.  
The offeror must have in-house capacity to perform high screening of a 
large number of compounds at a single receptor or transporter target, 
with appropriate follow up assays.  Evaluate proprietary test compounds 
in established assays.  The Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Opiate 
Treatment Discovery Programs of the NIDA Division of Treatment Research 
and Development shall utilize the resulting data.   The offeror must 
present current DEA registration for Schedules II-V substances before 
award, and demonstration of the capability to obtain DEA registration 
for Schedule I controlled substances. NIDA anticipates awarding a five-
year contract for this procurement.  RFP No. N01DA-3-8839 will be 
available electronically about April 11, 2003 via the Internet at:

acquisition includes only the Work Statement, Deliverables and 
Reporting Requirements, Special Requirements and Mandatory 
Qualifications, Technical Evaluation Criteria, and other necessary 
Proposal Preparation Instructions.  The electronic RFP contains all 
information needed to submit an offer.  No printed version of the 
solicitation document or bidders list available.  All responsible 
offerors may submit a proposal for the government's consideration.  
Proposals will be due May 27, 2003.
