The purpose of this Notice is to clarify the eligibility of Program Directors/Principal Investigators (PDs/PIs) in PAR-24-039 "Exploratory Grant Award to Promote Workforce Diversity in Basic Cancer Research (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)"
The following section of the NOFO is revised accordingly:

Any individual(s) with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research as the Program Director(s)/Principal Investigator(s) (PD(s)/PI(s)) is invited to work with their organization to develop an application for support. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and women are always encouraged to apply for NIH support. Current or former PDs/PIs on an NIH research project grant (such as an R01), or any peer-reviewed non-NIH research grant over $175,000 direct costs per year are not eligible. Current or former PD(s)/PI(s) of an NIH R03 or R21 grant, or a non-federal equivalent to an R03 or R21 grant remain eligible.
An individual may receive no more than 2 awards from the Exploratory Grant Award to Promote Workforce Diversity in Basic Cancer Research program, including past and future iterations of this NOFO.
By the time of award, the individual must be a citizen or a non-citizen national of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence (i.e., possesses a currently valid Permanent Resident Card USCIS Form I-551, or other legal verification of such status.
All other aspects of this NOFO remain unchanged,
