Purpose

This notice amends RFA-CA-22-015 Cancer Control Research in Persistent Poverty Areas with updates to the Funding Opportunity Description in Section I and Budget for the Developmental Core in Section IV.

The following sections of RFA-CA-22-015 have been modified:

Part 2. Section I. Funding Opportunity Description

Currently Reads:

D. Developmental Core (required): During the post-award period, each Center is expected to develop at least two additional new Pilot Research Projects. One of the projects must be an intervention. Cross-Center projects are encouraged. The Center PD(s)/PI(s) and other designated project team leadership (including the Persistent Poverty Steering Committee members subsequently described) will establish each project-specific research framework, including research objectives and strategies. The new Pilot Research Projects can be based on newly emerging or updated data reported in the literature, and/or data from the community, and can be proposed on a yearly basis. All post-award proposed Pilot Research Projects will be subjected to approval by NCI in accordance with the Cooperative Agreement Terms and Conditions of Awards (Also see Section IV Application and Submission Information). Applicants are to set aside 1.5% of the direct costs per year for the entire funding period to fund two pilot projects, which will be proposed and funded in the first year by the funded Centers.

NOTE: Centers are required to set aside 1.5% of the total direct cost of the Center to fund at least 2 pilot projects every year over the course of the award of the Centers.

Note: The R&R Budget form included in many of the component types allows for up to 100 Senior/Key Persons in section A and 100 Equipment Items in section C prior to using attachments for additional entries. All other SF424 (R&R) instructions apply.
