This Notice is to indicate that NCI program announcement PAR-05-042 (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-05-042.html) is amended as follows: Part 2, Section V.2.e.7., entitled “Intellectual Property Management Plan,” is eliminated as a peer review criterion and is not to be evaluated during the peer review of applications submitted in connection with this program announcement. However, the Intellectual Property Management Plan remains an administrative requirement (as per Part 2, Section III.3., entitled “Other Special Eligibility Criteria”); the adequacy of any such plan will be evaluated by NCI program staff.

Applicants should, in developing their Intellectual Property Management Plans (IPMPs), confer with their institutions' offices that are responsible for handling technology transfer-related matters and/or sponsored research. If applicants or their representatives require additional guidance in preparing these plans, they are encouraged to consult the SPORE Guidelines at http://spores.nci.nih.gov/ and at http://spores.nci.nih.gov/applicants/guidelines/SPORE_Guidelines_Interim_2005.pdf. Applicants may also wish to independently research and review examples of approaches considered by other institutions, such as those described on the NCI Technology Transfer Branch website at http://ttc.nci.nih.gov/intellectualproperty/. Furthermore, applicants are welcome to address inquiries regarding the development of IPMPs directly to the NCI program staff persons listed below.
