This Notice is an addendum to RFA-AR-02-003, Basic and Applied Stem Cell 
Research for Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases, to clarify the page 
limitations for R21 applications.

A Preliminary Data section is not required for an R21 application, however, 
if included, it should not exceed one page. The research plan (a-d) is 
limited to 10 pages. Applications that exceed the page limit will be returned 
without review. An appendix may be included in the application; however, the 
appendix is not to be used to circumvent the page limit of the research plan.
