Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to inform potential applicants of a change in the award and application and submission information in the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) PAR-15-164 titled "HIV Vaccine Research and Design (HIVRAD) Program (P01)".

Part 2. Section II. Award Information

Current language:
Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards
NIH intends to fund an estimate of 1-3 awards, corresponding to a total of $5M, for fiscal year 2016. Future year amounts will depend on annual appropriations.

Application budgets are not limited but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed project.

NIH intends to fund an estimate of 1-3 awards, corresponding to a total of $5M, for fiscal year 2016 and 1-2 awards for fiscal year 2017 and 2018. Future year amounts will depend on annual appropriations.

Award Budget
Application budgets must reflect the actual needs of the proposed project and budgets for these projects must not exceed $2,000,000 direct cost per year.

Requests of $500,000 or more for direct costs in any year

Applicants requesting $500,000 or more in direct costs in any year (excluding consortium F&A) must contact a Scientific/ Research Contact at least 6 weeks before submitting the application and follow the Policy on the Acceptance for Review of Unsolicited Applications that Request $500,000 or More in Direct Costs as described in the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide.

All other aspects of the FOA remain the same.
