Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) participation, effective immediately, in the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), RFA-HL-16-003, entitled "Collaborative Projects to Accelerate Research in Organ Fibrosis (R01)".

RFA-HL-16-003 has been updated in the following ways to reflect NIAID's participation in this FOA.

Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards
The number of awards is contingent upon NIH appropriations and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.

NHLBI intends to commit up to total costs of $1,080,000 for fiscal year 2016, $2,700,000 for fiscal year 2017, $2,700,000 for fiscal year 2018, $2,700,000 for fiscal year 2019 and $1,620,000 for fiscal year 2020.

NHLBI intends to fund up to 2 awards in 2016 and up to 3 awards in 2017.

NIAID intends to commit a total of $400,000 per year for fiscal year 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
