PURPOSE

The Division of AIDS (DAIDS) of the National Institute of Allergy and 
Infectious Diseases (NIAID) announces the inactivation of Program 
Announcement, PA-02-146,  HIV THERAPEUTICS: TARGETING RESEARCH GAPS  that 
appeared in the NIH Guide on August 9, 2002 at link 
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-02-146.html. 

The final receipt date for applications was September 1, 2003.

The purpose of this PA was to provide an entry point for investigators into 
the NIAID research and development program for HIV therapeutics.  In 
particular it invited applications for studies in areas identified as under-
explored in current HIV therapeutics research.  Researchers are still highly 
encouraged to submit investigator-initiated applications for these studies.
