RFP ANNOUNCEMENT: MICROBIAL GENOME SEQUENCING CENTER (S) - NIH-NIAID-DMID-03-10 Release Date: July 23, 2002 NOTICE: NOT-AI-02-043 National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) (http://www.niaid.nih.gov) Receipt Date: December 2, 2002 DESCRIPTION The Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has a requirement to provide support for rapid production of high-quality, microbial genome sequences reflecting state-of-the-art for large scale sequencing projects, based on continual improvements of technology and efficiency of production sequencing. Genomes to be sequenced include microorganisms, considered agents of bioterrorism, related organisms, clinical isolates, near neighbor species, and invertebrate vectors of disease and microorganisms responsible for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. It is anticipated that two (2) cost-reimbursement, completion type contracts will be awarded for a period of Five (5) years, beginning approximately July 1, 2003. RFP-NIH-NIAID-DMID-03-10 will be available electronically on or about August 5, 2002 and may be accessed through the NIAID Contract Management Branch (CMB) Home Page at http://www.niaid.nih.gov/contract and will be on Fed Biz Opps at www.fedbizopps.gov. Responses to this RFP will be due on December 2, 2002. Any responsible offeror may submit a proposal for consideration by the Government.
