Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will hold a pre-application technical assistance live webinar regarding applications in response to NOT-AG-24-004, “Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): U.S. Health in the International Perspective.” 

Below are key details regarding the webinar:

• What: A live, pre-application technical assistance webinar regarding NOT-AG-24-004
• When: June 18, 2024
• Where: Virtual event; register here. Webinar connection information will be provided to registered participants  
• Time: 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM Eastern Time
• Are applicants required to participate: No. The webinar is optional and is not required for submission to the NOSI

Purpose of the NOSI

NOT-AG-24-004 indicates NIA’s interest in research that examines mechanisms and causes behind the increasing U.S. health disadvantage, which refers to worsening life expectancies and health outcomes in the U.S. compared to other countries. Of particular interest are projects that examine cross-national and U.S. cross-regional or cross-state differences in policy contexts that may drive poor health outcomes. 

Purpose of the Webinar

This webinar is intended for potential applicants to discuss the NOSI's key objectives including the purpose, background, and requirements. It will also provide information on potential research topics, data resources available through NIA, and deadlines.

During the webinar, questions submitted prior to and during the webinar will be addressed.
