Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform potential applicants that the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will hold a pre-application technical assistance webinar regarding potential applications in response to NOT-AG-23-060, “Notice of Special Interest (NOSI): Telehealth for People and Families Living with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and AD-Related Dementias (ADRD).”

Purpose of the NOSI

NOT-AG-23-060 indicates NIA’s interest in:

  1. Retrospective and new examinations that determine the impact of telehealth on cost, access, quality, timeliness, and equity of care for people and families living with AD/ADRD, and
  2. Prospectively identifying telehealth care delivery methods that work well for people and families living with AD/ADRD 

Purpose of the Webinar

The webinar is intended for potential applicants to discuss the NOSI’s key objectives, including the following:

  • Evaluating telehealth's efficacy for remote cognitive assessments, caregiver training, and chronic condition care
  • Exploring disparities, usability, and accessibility and examining costs and coverage in Medicare plans
  • Assessing telehealth's impact on diagnostic accuracy, quality, and infrastructure gaps in rural areas
  • Examining best practices for health systems and provider adoption
