Background

The National Institute on Aging (NIA)'s Strategic Directions document (refer to https://www.nia.nih.gov/sites/default/files/2017-07/nia-strategic-directions-2016.pdf) serves as:

  • A point of reference for priority setting
  • A framework for systematic analysis of the NIA's scientific portfolio
  • A benchmark against which we can assess progress
  • A statement of the NIA's scientific priority areas within the rapidly evolving field of aging research

NIA is currently updating ?its Strategic Directions document, and the Institute seeks public input on the topics to be included in the plan and suggestions regarding how to enhance the NIA research portfolio. NIA leadership and staff will review and consider the comments as the Institute updates its Strategic Directions.
