Central Contractor Registration (CCR) account requests and renewal services changed as of July 2012.

CCR is now the new System for Award Management (SAM).
It is required that the SAM registration is renewed yearly.
Grant applications cannot be accepted without a valid and active SAM registration.

We urge you to begin the registration and/or renewal process NOW as all required registrations must be complete for a successful submission of an NIH grant application.

Before applying for an NIH grant application, make sure your organization has completed all the following registrations, including annual renewal requirements:

Obtained an organizational DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet.
Registered with System for Award Management (SAM) and verified the account is active Begin at least 6 weeks before the application due date. This registration must be updated at least once per year.
Completed registration with Grants.gov.
Completed registration with eRA Commons (begin at least 6 weeks before the due date).

Read and follow all instructions in the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) and application guide.
Check your application for common errors before you submit (our Annotated Forms can assist).
You are responsible for tracking your application from submission to Grants.gov through to the eRA Commons. Be sure you:

View your application. Remember, if you can't view it, we can't review it.
Fix any errors found in the submission process before 5 p.m. (local time) on the due date.
